Escape the Hive is a modern hard rock band formed in 2021 out of creative influence born of pent up passions and a desire to reconnect with the vintage vibes that made past decades of rock music so compelling.
With a classic rock vibe reminiscent of the great arena rock bands of the 70s and 80s, ETH embraces the classic rock revival phenomenon that's spreading like wildfire around the world.
Their music features powerful lyrics backed by soaring harmonies, red-hot guitar riffs, and melodic bass lines punctuated by no-holds-barred drumming.
Their first studio record, This Is Gonna Sting!, released on CD, vinyl, and digital platforms in September 2023, was produced by frontman and former JakeELee Red Dragon Cartel vocalist Michael Thomas Beck and recorded at SoundVision Studios in Phoenix, Arizona.
Grammy-nominated guitarist Conrad Varela, bassist Paul Williams, and drummer Rich Hinshaw complete the lineup.
With the backing of Deko Entertainment/Warner Brothers Music, the second album, Flight Or Flight, is set to be released on June 26, 2026 on all streaming platforms as well as CD, vinyl, and USB drives. The band is excited to tour extensively this Summer and Fall to share the Escape The Hive live experience in support of Flight Or Flight.
The first single from Fight Or Flight is a scorching rock anthem appropriately called “Around The Sun" and was released on all digital platforms under Deko Entertainment on May 1, 2026.

MEET THE BAND
Michael Beck - Lead Vocals
Vocalist Michael Thomas Beck's intense vocals and elevated lyrics add power and edge to Escape The Hive's unique sound.
Michael spent time on tour singing with former Ozzy Osborne guitarist Jake E. Lee, fronting his band Red Dragon Cartel. Before forming Escape The Hive, he sang for the critically acclaimed release with Kings of Dust in 2019 that also featured the bass player from Badlands.
Conrad Varela - Lead guitar & vocals
Grammy-nominated lead guitarist Conrad Varela is a creative young phenom with extraordinary skill and exceptional talent.
Nominated for a Grammy alongside Alice Cooper for his work on a children’s album, he plays with Alice Cooper frequently. He’s also active in Alice Cooper’s Solid Rock Teen Center in Phoenix and won Alice Cooper’s Taste of Christmas Pudding as a solo player in 2018.
Paul Williams - Bass and vocals
Bassist Paul Williams’ passion for performing live shines brightly onstage. His beefy tone, skill for creating a melodic groove, and distinctly dynamic stage presence thrill concertgoers.
Having writing, recording, and live performance experience across multiple genres, including rock, metal, country, and pop, he brings a unique swing to the bass guitar that is unexpected yet exceptional, providing a unique rhythmic foundation to ETH.
Rich Hinshaw - Drums and percussion
Arizona native drummer Rich Hinshaw completes the rhythm section with hard-hitting energy. His potent, driving beats and creative fills energize and captivate audiences. With extensive studio and touring experience, as well as accolades as a drum corps instructor at the national level, he sets the stage for a no-holds-barred live show.
He’s played and toured with various artist spanning multiple genres, bringing high-octane rock beats that take ETH to entirely new and spirited heights.
